Cool & Cute ! Les Hot Toddies sont tout ça à la fois. Plus bad girls que les Slits, et plus marrantes que les Pipettes, les quatre filles d’Oakland sont le girl band qu’on attendait plus. Un mélange de pop sixties, de rock à la Stooges, et de soleil californien, le tout accompagné de paroles hilarantes (HTML parle de rencontres sur internet en langage geek, Seattle ferait rougir Peaches, et Photosynthesis parle de…photosynthèse).
Et si on ajoute à tout ça un sérieux penchant pour l’alcool et les déguisements, on ne voit pas trop ce qui nous retiendrait d’en faire notre nouveau groupe préféré.
Signé sur Asian Man, les Hot Toddies devraient sortir en juin un successeur à leur premier album, Smell the Mitten.

The Hot Toddies formed in 2004 while relaxing on a beach in Mexico, heavily under the influence of Tecate and tequila. Heidi and Erin began writing songs, and Jessica and Sylvia joined the band in the fall of 2005. All together, they are a fun loving group of four girls from Oakland who play drums, guitar, bass, and keyboards and sing charmingly about being bad. Their first EP was released independently in August 2006 following a week long tour through California and the Southwest.
